AI is not only the main subject of discussion in the field of video games, but it is at the forefront of its optimization in competition across industries. At a recent meeting, a senior director of Fort Night focused on speed and optimization and stressed that AI would improve efficiency but would not replace jobs.

Stephanie Arnette, Senior External Development Manager of Fort Night, spoke about how companies could explore different automation tools to improve efficiency at a recent Latin American station panel discussion at the Cologne game show. “Epic has been exploring different AI tools to support our game development,” Arntette says. I know everyone’s worst fear is, “God, AI will take all our work. That’s not our goal. Our goal is to make us more efficient.” She went on to say that what would have taken a person 10 hours to do might suddenly take less time and noted that AI tools were also being explored in the art field. However, she did not elaborate on the modalities.

Arnette then said confidently that Epic would not embed any AI agent in Fortress Night, saying, “There is really no opportunity for partners to try to put their AI information or tools in our system, because Epic is a huge job, and we will take the lead and not be held hostage by outsiders.” Recently, Senior Sony also declared AI the future of game development. They are currently working with the Mandea Palace in the field of generating AI.
