The developer Bungie officially launched a new “search-and-discretion” shooting game, Lost Star Ship: Marathon, landing (Steam)/PS5/Xbox Series X|S platform on 6 March. The game is a new Cyberpunk style, with both challenging and entertaining features, and has attracted a large number of players.

The Lost Starship: Marathon is a PvPvE first-person shooting game with lost S.T.S.V. V.V. Players will act as bio-electronic mercenaries and can search for goods in teams or single-person groups in various regions. The game provides a unique skill in each of the six well-equipped cases of motorists, such as destroyers, scouts and thieves, who can build numerous different configurations by searching for retrofitting weapons, body implants and core system upgrades. Each of the six factions in the game offers a unique contractual system, and the completion of the camp contract can enhance the base strength by unlocking incentives during the season, such as the upgrading of the shell of the motorist, a stronger initial configuration, a larger vault space and special commodities that can be purchased with the remaining spoils. In the previous server stress test, which had ended on 3 March, the game had a record of over 140,000 simultaneous online players on Steam, highlighting the high expectations of the players for the work. After the official sale, the game remained warm, with Steam also having up to 88,337 online players. To date, the rating of 90 per cent in over 5,000 player evaluations is a good start. The number of players is expected to increase further by weekend.

It is worth noting that the enemy AI in this work has a certain strength and that there is no death insurance mechanism such as the safe to escape from Takuf and the ARC Raiders safety pack. The game, however, reduces the burden of a single loss by providing free “subsidized kits” to the factions. Compared to other search-and-search games, the lost ship: the marathon is at a faster pace, with a high level of fighting, and some players compare it to works like the Apex Heroes. While ensuring the depth of the game, operational senses and systematic shooting are more recreational, which is one of the reasons why they are well received. But there are also players who criticize the homogeneity of the game and the lack of innovation in the search and evacuation methods, leading to aesthetic fatigue. The problems of too little TTK time, scarce resources, poor PVE balance and delays in pre-purchase incentives have also been ailed by many players. In addition, the unique art style of the game is polarized, with some players viewing it as unique, others scrambling too much, and UIs and task-line colours too bad.

The official version of Lost Starships: Marathon, based on the stress test content, has unlocked all six ATD factions and their corresponding contractual systems, and has actually contained a sixth ATD shell “the thief”. The new map will also be made available to players above level 12 on the day after distribution. The ranking model is expected to start in late March. It is alleged that the development team is studying updates, such as adjusting the rhythm of combat and improving UIs, based on user feedback during stress tests. Players who participate in stress testing can now receive props in their mailbox, including progress awards.
