On 23 June, the Harald United Ant Group and the Ningd era launched, through their respective investors, the establishment of the Shanghai Father-Building Smart Technology Company Ltd., with registered capital of RMB 1,288 million, to officially enter the Robotaxi market.
According to official sources, the father-in-law ‘ s smart technology company will focus on the development, safe application and commercialization of L4-class auto-driving technology, marking a strong alliance between the three parties in the field of smart mobility. The inspiration of the “father-in-law” is derived from a man who has been known in China’s history for his high-speed driving skills and for his ambitions and innovations in automatic driving technology.

Shanghai Smart Technology Co. Ltd., which is jointly owned by three companies, reported that the initial three-party funding totals more than $3 billion, demonstrating a strong commitment to the L4 Autopilot Drive. The L4 automatic-driving technology refers to the full self-driving of vehicles under certain conditions, without human intervention, and is widely applied in the areas of unmanned taxis, logistics distribution, etc. Fathers will integrate the experience of Halo ‘ s travel platform, the ants ‘ group ‘ s AI and data technology, and the Ninder-era battery and energy solutions to complete ecology from technological development to commercial landings.

As China ‘ s leading shared travel platform, the transition to intelligent travel has accelerated in recent years, with two-wheeled electric cars and Internet-to-traffic operations accumulating a wealth of scene data. The ants group provides technical support for awareness, decision-making and security for self-driving, based on its advantages in the fields of AI algorithms, block chains and financial technology. The Ningde era, as the global power cell lead, will provide high-performance batteries and energy management programmes to the father to address the high-energy stress points of auto-pilot vehicles.
The founding of Shanghai’s founding fathers coincided with a global competition for automatic driving. On 22 June, Tesla launched a robotaxi service in Austin at a one-way charge of $4.20 (approximately 30 yuan yuan), which provoked a heated debate. By contrast, the father-in-law focussing L4 technology is directed at commercialized landings or in direct competition with domestic players such as 100-degree Apollo, pony skeptics, etc.
