Google announced on Thursday that Gmail was in the process of launching a new “purchase” tab that would provide users with a quick overview of their forthcoming package delivery. The label will allow them to access all purchase-related e-mails in one place, even past orders and goods.
Google indicated that the Gmail would still display the package that would arrive within 24 hours on the user inbox. The new label simply brings together all purchase information of the user.
The update, which is based on Gmail, was first launched in 2022 and allows users to follow their forthcoming package delivery directly from the inbox without having to navigate to the appropriate operator ‘ s website.
Google stated that the new functionality would be particularly useful during the holiday period, as PricewaterhouseCoopers ‘ holiday outlook for 2025 projected that 39 per cent of the planned holiday gift expenditure would take place between Thanksgiving and Monday. Google said that the new label would help users to track all of these goods in a more efficient manner.
This feature was launched today at the mobile end and on the web page, and to global users through the individual Google account.
Google also announced that it was updating the promotion categories in Gmail to allow users to sort by “most relevant” promotional e-mails. The company indicated that this would make it easier to see the trade update of its most important brand. In addition, Gmail will introduce to users upcoming transactions and timely concessions.
This update will be rolled out to users in their personal Google account in the coming weeks.
